Many mental health programs focus on a treatment guided by a deficit model that is problem-focused and reactive. Mental strength is a strength-based model that focuses on rewiring your brain through exposure therapy and taking massive action for immersive change towards healing and transformation that translates to new abilities, leveraging strength and weaknesses, and building ironclad discipline and confidence.

We created and designed Mental Strength Training (MST) from a deeply-rooted passion for empowering others to take an active stance towards wellness – moving away from reaction to prevention. Alleviating stress and finding comfort are only temporary band-aids. Developing mental strength is training your psychology to be like a muscle to not only survive but thrive in the face of hardships.

Pain and suffering are inherent aspects of the human experience and are considered a necessary part of life. While pain and suffering are inevitable, they also present opportunities for growth, resilience, and personal development. Facing and navigating these challenges can lead to profound learning experiences, increased empathy for others, and a deeper understanding of yourself. Embracing the full spectrum of human emotions, including pain and suffering, allows us to develop emotional maturity and cultivate a more profound appreciation for moments of joy, love, and fulfillment.

MST acknowledges and accepts pain as a part of life, and it’s a program that encourages us all to move toward finding meaning, healing, and strength in the face of adversity.

Origin Story

Unifying Ancient Wisdom and Modern Insight

Albert’s journey through martial arts was naturally intertwined with rigorous fitness training and cross-training across various physical disciplines, crafting a comprehensive regimen that honed not just his skills but his entire being. This holistic approach taught him the indispensable value of mind-body synchronicity, laying the groundwork for what would soon be called, Mental Strength Training (MST). Inspired by this integration, Albert saw a unique opportunity to merge the physical discipline and mental fortitude from his martial arts and fitness journey with psychology and behavioral science. His curiosity about how martial arts principles could universally benefit those outside the practice evolved into a mission to create MST. This program is not just an amalgamation of ancient wisdom and modern behavioral techniques — it’s a reflection of Albert’s deep appreciation for the interconnectedness of physical wellness and mental resilience. MST aims to offer a comprehensive strategy that embodies the essence of mind-body work, making the powerful benefits of combined physical discipline and psychological insight accessible to everyone, fostering a path to holistic well-being.

In designing the Mental Strength Training (MST) program, Albert was acutely aware of the critical role science plays in understanding and transforming human psychology, behaviors, and the nature of suffering. With a rich background in martial arts and psychotherapy, he recognized the need to blend these areas with solid scientific principles and innovative, experimental processes that delve deep into the human psyche. To achieve this ambitious vision, Albert collaborated with Enrique, a fellow expert in mental health, bringing together their vast and complementary expertise.

Their collaboration was a meeting of minds, merging the practical wisdom of martial arts with the latest advancements in psychological research and therapeutic techniques. Together, they crafted MST, a program meticulously designed to harness the best of both worlds—ancient disciplines and modern science—in a way that is both innovative and deeply rooted in a comprehensive understanding of what it means to navigate human challenges.
